After an awol has taken place, it is instrumental that staff maintains a transparent line of communication with regard to other staff and management. It is also crucial to watch the client from a safe distance and document the incident properly. Furthermore, staff should unequivocally contact police/authorities and serve as a helpful agent in aiding their return/safety.
