Equality of Employees

Cultural competence refers to a combination of knowledge, skills and awareness pertaining to cultural differences and different interpretations across groups.

It includes the awareness of and respect for differences, without making assumptions that everyone from a particular background holds the same beliefs and practices.

1) In your own words, how would you describe diversity?

2) What does an Inclusive Workforce mean?

Diversity can mean there are many differences in others backgrounds. It may be differences in ethnicity, religious belief, gender, ect.. An inclusive workforce is an environment where others can be valued by their differences and feel comfortable and welcome.

1)Diversity mean people of different races, religion and many different backgrounds, coexisting and working together.

2) An inclusive work force to me means that all employees would be included in ALL aspects of the company, business or otherwise and making sure every single employee feels like they have a voice and that their thoughts opinions are acknowledged and to feel included and appreciated.

Inclusive workforce is a working environment that values individuals and harnesses the abilities of each individual, which enable a company to embrace different backgrounds and perspectives. Building an inclusive workplace is a major facet of the modern workforce. Inclusive workforce includes minority groups and under-served populations; providing opportunity for them to be represented in the workforce. Employers strive for diversity because an inclusive workforce drives innovation. Race, ethnicity, and sex are common factors in diversity initiatives, but it is also important to consider sexual orientation, gender identity, age, and disability when striving toward inclusion. As employers strive toward full inclusion in the workplace, they should incorporate a comprehensive definition of diversity that applies to all hiring practices.
