A seizure is a brief, excessive discharge of electrical activity in the brain that alters one or more of the following: Movement, Sensation, Behavior, Awareness.
Did you know that most seizures are NOT medical emergencies but it is important to know what to do when someone does have a seizure.
For this blog, please post your response on what you would do to help someone who is having a seizure. What are the steps you would take? Also, when is a seizure considered a medical emergency?

Generally, a seizure should be considered an emergency in these situations: Seizures that do not stop within a few minutes. Prolonged confusion remains after the seizure (more than 10-15 minutes). The person is not responsive after a seizure. The person has trouble breathing. The person is injured during the seizure. The seizure is a first-time seizure. There is a significant change in the type or character of the seizure from that person's usual seizure pattern.
Make sure there is nothing in the persons mouth and time the seizure , make sure the person is clear of anything that can harm them . if the seizure is longer than 2 minutes then call 911 for assistance . Otherwise log the time of seizure on the seizure form for the client. Follow up with the person and make sure the person is ok
When a seizure occurs it os important to make sure that there is nothing in the clients mouth,to make sure that the clients surrounding is clear. It is also important to stay. All and to time the episode. It’s considered an emergency if the oxygen saturation is low, if the episode lasts more than 2-3 minutes and if repeated without gaining consciousness. Also if there are any Injuries or any medical conditions such as diabetes.
If a client is having a seizure make sure they are safe,time the length of the seizure,
if it is a long seizure or keeps repeating moor them 2 m need to call the emergency
or if they got hurt.
