Client Right #5: "A right to religious freedom and practice."
Food Training: All of us need food to keep us alive and healthy. However, food can also make us sick if it is not prepared and/or served properly. As a direct care professional it is important to make sure people don't get sick from the foods and drinks you prepare and serve them. Hands that are not thoroughly washed are one of the main reasons why people get sick from the food they eat. This can be prevented by washing your hands often!

Also, what are some ways to prepare foods so it is protected from contamination?

Use warm water and soap and scrub for 10-15 seconds making sure to scrub between fingers and under fingernails.-
Then dry your hands with towels.
- Clean your fruits and vegetables in sink. When preparing meats clean and sanitized cutting boards prior to use of of other food items.
-Also prepare raw foods separately from cooked foods.
To start, you wash your hands with warm water and soap. This is done for a minimum of 30 seconds or more. Next, you dry your hands with a towel. Then, one needs to ensure all surfaces and utensils are clean or cleaned. By the same hand, there are ways to act against contamination. Some include using gloves, storing food in proper containers and bags, and to wash all fruits/veggies and so forth.

Dry your hand with towel,always clean were you are going to preparing food before and after.
1. Wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 30 seconds.
2. Dry your hands on a clean towel .
3.Clean surfaces and utensils before preparing food.
Wash your hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds, making sure to clean under your nails. Dry with a paper towel. Keep all surfaces and utensils clean—use separate ones for raw and cooked food. Wear gloves if needed, and don’t leave food out too long. Store everything properly and cover it if it’s left out.
