Diabetes is the condition in which the body does not properly process blood sugar.
Most people will be able to handle all or almost all routine diabetes care by themselves. Some people, because of age, developmental level, or inexperience, will need help from staff.

1.wash your hands,prepare supplies,clean finger,poke the finger ,place drop of blood on the test strip,log the results,dispose of the supplies container.

The instructions for using a glucose meter. Wash hands with soap and water . Clean completely with alcohol .Prick the finger tip with a lancet
The following are the general instructions for using a glucose meter
Wash hands with soap and warm water and dry completely or clean the area with alcohol and dry completely
Prick the fingertip with a lancet
Hold the hand down and hold the finger unto a small drop of blood appears, catch the blood with the test strips
Follow the instructions for inserting the strips and using the SMBG meter
Record the test result. Normal range 70/140
Specific medical order for blood glucose monitoring, insulin, glucagon, and other medications to be given at facility
Action to be taken in response to hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia
In order to use a glucose meter in a proper and effective manner, one must first wash their hands and prepare the supplies (swab, lancet, strip) in a cleanly fashion. The hand must be held in a downward motion in order to wipe the area and take the sample for reading. It is crucial that the blood is is collected on the strip and that all is documented.
As far as managing diabetes type 2 — one can ensure that a meal plan that emphasizes low cholesterol & heart health is followed. This, alongside periodic exercise that stimulates an activate lifestyle will be effective as well.
Wash hands for 30 seconds, prep the supplies; alcohol swab, lancer, strip and meter. Hold hand downward wipe area take sample and apply on the strip for reading.
If you are a type 2 diabetic if you watch your carb intake (30 grams a serving), your diabetes can be "Controlled". One rule of diabetic eating is that if it's white/light in color= CARBS and carbs turn into sugar.
