Each individual should be provided with a safe living environment by making sure staff is always available to help the client with any concern and/or issue that may come up and to provide care and supervision in a way that shows care and compassion.

Making sure to give correct medication dosage and correct medication by verifying the individual and their prescriptions as labeled and directed by prescribing physician.

Hands off facility, freedom to go about common areas of the home as they wish.

Maintaining a safe environment reflects a level of compassion and vigilance for client welfare that is as important as any other aspect of competent health care. The way to improve safety is to learn about causes of error and use this knowledge to design better systems of care.
